Get that Summer beach body in shape

The clocks have gone forward, which means the countdown to summer – and getting that summer beach body in shape – has started.  And if you’re STILL struggling to shed those extra pounds from too much New Year celebrating, fear not: help is at hand in the shape of trainer Hayley Newton who has teamed up with Bing to promote its free Health & Fitness app, which is now on Windows Phone 8 as well as Windows 8.

Hayley has worked with many celebrities such as Pixie Lott, and she says getting trim for summer is all about making simple choices. “Most people fail because they’re impatient for results and work at it too hard – but if you stick with something for 30 days it becomes a habit,” explains Hayley. “Shift your thinking from couch potato mentality to thinking like an athlete to get that ideal beach body. It may sound like a big challenge, but it’s not as big a leap as you think.”

Hayley’s tips include setting realistic goals that include clear milestones, as well as convenience, such as finding a nearby gym or park. Also, make it fun by taking part in sports or activities that you enjoy, like pole dancing or even circus skills – and make a good playlist for working out. Pictures can help if you take identical photos of yourself every four weeks and stick them on the fridge. Don’t forget to involve friends, who can help to motivate, inspire and help to keep things light hearted – and it’s also important to relax by giving yourself rest days when you feel like it will be too much to get out.

Hayley adds: “Sometimes it can be difficult to find the time and resources you need to get fit. The great thing about the app workouts is that you can try them out anywhere, from the gym to the comfort of your own living room – so now you’ve got no excuse for not exercising. And once you’ve done your workout, the app tracks everything for you, across all Windows devices, so you know exactly what you’ve managed to burn off.

“There are over one thousand exercise videos and workouts created for beginner to advanced levels, suiting all types of needs and lifestyles. Information on diets and nutrition provide everything you need to know to reach your fitness goals.”

So now you’ve got no excuse for not getting in shape for summer, with the Bing Health & Fitness, available for free on Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.
