Microsoft celebrates with Pride

London pride

On Saturday, hundreds of Microsoft employees and friends joined the annual LGBT Pride in London Parade and for once, the weather was kind and the umbrellas were not called for. Surrounded by hundreds of thousands of spectators, the celebration of LGBT culture was the biggest ever, with over 30,000 people taking part amongst an estimated 500,000 spectators.

From a lively Mariachi Mexican band, to the Microsoft stilt walkers and super hero performers, the day was action packed as the parade moved from Baker Street to Whitehall.

The Parade forms the centrepiece of a week of festivities across the capital and kicks off the pride season in the UK with further events in most UK cities including Newcastle Upon-Tyne, Brighton, Manchester and in Reading, the home of Microsoft UK.

For Microsoft though, being part of Pride is about so much more than a parade. It helps to support our global push for equality for the LGBT community and celebrates our commitment to diversity & inclusion.

As well as the main parade group, Microsoft also supported the InterTech LGBT+ Diversity forum. The group, now in its third year, is a professional network for the LGBT community in the technology industry, whose members also include Salesforce, Google and NaturalMotion Games.
