England will be knocked out of Euros in semi-final, predicts Bing
England will reach the semi-finals of this summer’s European Championships but will then be knocked out by Spain, according to Bing.
Roy Hodgson’s team will top Group B with seven points following their matches against Wales, Russia and Slovakia, Microsoft’s search engine has predicted. England will beat Russia on June 11 and Slovakia on June 20, but will be held to a draw by a Gareth-Bale-led Wales on June 16.
After qualifying from their group, England will then win against Turkey in the next round before knocking out Portugal in their quarter-final game, Bing has claimed. England beat Portugal 1-0 in a friendly recently.
However, they will then lose to Spain, who have won the past two European Championships – in 2008 in Austria and Switzerland, and 2012 in Poland and Ukraine.
This year’s tournament kicks off on June 10 in France, and confidence is high that England can do well. Sir Geoff Hurst, who scored a hat-trick in the World Cup Final for England in 1966, told the BBC that this year’s squad is the “most exciting” since that historic triumph 50 years ago.
“It’s the most exciting squad since ’66,” Sir Geoff said. “People like Dele Alli have come in and been very refreshing. He’s played, even in the friendlies, like it’s the World Cup final.”

Other players, such as captain Wayne Rooney and striker Jamie Vardy, are also expected to perform well and help the team improve on their quarter-final appearance in 2012.
Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for the other home nations. Bing has predicted that Wales will be knocked out of the Euros early, finishing third in Group B with just two points.

Northern Ireland are expected to lose all three of their games in a tough Group C that also contains Germany, Poland and Ukraine.
Bing expects Germany to win this year’s tournament, beating Spain in the final.
Bing correctly predicted the outcome for all 15 knockout matches at the Brazilian World Cup in 2014, and has successfully predicted winners of the Oscars and Cricket World Cup.
