Shelling out on a new laptop this spring? Microsoft has hidden a discount code on its website

Microsoft is hiding eggs on its online store that give shoppers special offers, as part of a spring sale.

Two eggs will be placed in different locations on the Microsoft UK Store this weekend, which will give customers promotional codes that they can use when buying products.

One code will give shoppers £5 off their order (excluding Surface Book with Performance Base and gift cards), which must total more than £50. The other egg will offer free express delivery.

Microsoft will provide clues to find the eggs, which will be activated alongside a range of deals for spring.

Anyone looking for a laptop can get up to 22% (£665) off a Microsoft Surface Book, with a one-terabyte Intel Core i7 available for just £2,384 this weekend. With the full power of a high performance laptop and the versatility of a tablet, the Book’s detachable 13.5” PixelSense Display features six million pixels and is optimised for Pen and touch. It also boasts 12 hours of battery life.

Shoppers can buy an ASUS UX360CA with Office 365 and save £140. The bundle is available at £719.98, down from £859.98; while an HP Spectre X2 bundle that includes a monitor, mouse and Office 365 is now £959.96, down from £1139.96.

Store customers can also save £20 on Office 365 Personal, which is now available for £39.99 when purchased with any PC. The package features Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access, and can be installed on one PC or Mac, one tablet and one phone.

Microsoft Store is also running a sale on select 500GB Xbox One S consoles, now available from £219.99, while the one-terabyte version costs just £269.99 and includes an additional controller or game.

The console has a sleeker design that the standard Xbox One and is 40% smaller. It features a new wireless controller with textured grip and Bluetooth support as well as a built-in power supply.

The Xbox One S is also the first and only console to feature High Dynamic Range – enhancing the colour and picture – to support 4K video, stream 4K Ultra HD content from services like Netflix and play 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.

The Xbox UK Store is also running a Spring Sale, with up to 50% off selected games.
