Microsoft appoints Musidora Jorgensen to UK leadership team
Microsoft has appointed Musidora Jorgensen to the UK leadership team.
In 2020, Microsoft announced a commitment to become carbon negative by 2030, and by 2050 it will remove from the environment all the carbon the company has emitted either directly or by electrical consumption since it was founded in 1975. Microsoft has also made commitments related to water, waste, and biodiversity. It has also released tools and services such as the Cloud for Sustainability, Emissions Impact Dashboard and Planetary Computer that help organisations understand their own carbon footprint and launch sustainability plans.
To build upon these global commitments and drive progress and impact in the UK, Musidora (left) has been appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer, with accountability for driving sustainability outcomes for our customers, partners and internally. She joins from Salesforce, where she led their energy and utilities business in the UK across commercial and enterprise markets, delivering double-digit growth.
She featured on Computer Weekly’s list of most influential women in technology in 2021, was named one of the top 100 female future leaders in 2020 by INvolve and Yahoo Finance UK, and was included in Kindness & Leadership’s Rising Star list for 2020.
Musidora said: “I am excited to be joining Microsoft to take on the role of highlighting and driving sustainability in the UK, an area I’m extremely passionate about. It’s such an important agenda at a critical point in time for the world and there is enormous opportunity for Microsoft, our customers and partners.”
Clare Barclay, Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Musidora to the Microsoft UK leadership team, and am excited about the depth of global experience and leadership capability she brings. Musidora will play a critical role in driving the future success in the UK supporting our customers and partners with the critical transformation to net zero.”
