A draw against United will prevent City from being crowned Premier League Champions this weekend, Bing predicts
Manchester City will be crowned Premier League Champions if they beat rivals Manchester United this weekend. According to Bing’s predictions however, City fans will leave the Etihad disappointed.
Microsoft’s search engine has given the fixture a 36% chance of a draw which, if true, will not be enough to clinch the title for Pep Guardiola’s men.
A victory for City however, is slated at 33%, while 31% is given to United, making the outcome of the match rather even. Given that United have been unbeaten in their last two league visits away at City (and kept clean sheets), the match on Saturday is shaping up to be a tense affair.
City, who will be reeling from their 3-0 Champions League loss against Liverpool on Wednesday, need to focus on the weekend ahead if they want to beat the odds and seal their trophy.
If the draw does come to fruition, we could see Liverpool also overtake United in the table, taking second place.
The Reds have been given a 76% chance of a victory against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday, which seems a safe bet, given that Everton are targeting their first Premier League win against Liverpool in 17 attempts.
A win for Liverpool will see the club hit a total of 69 points, which will be enough to match Manchester United’s expected total points after their predicted draw against City. As Liverpool currently have a larger goal difference, it’s likely that Jurgen Klopp’s men will end the weekend in second place.
Elsewhere, the table is expected to remain relatively unchanged, with Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal set to remain in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively, after their predicted victories against Stoke, West Ham and Southampton.
The relegation zone also looks set to stay the same, with Southampton, Stoke and West Brom remaining in the bottom three positions.
