Arsenal to drop out of top four after Liverpool defeat, Bing predicts

Arsenal’s hopes of qualifying for next season’s Champions League will suffer a blow this weekend when they drop out of the top four, Bing has predicted.

Arsene Wenger’s men take on Liverpool at Anfield, with Microsoft’s search engine predicting that the hosts will clinch a victory (55% chance).

Liverpool’s victory will nudge them up to fourth place, knocking Arsenal into fifth. If Manchester United beat Bournemouth (a 78% chance), Arsenal will fall even further, settling in sixth place.

Elsewhere, Chelsea will move one step closer to the Premier League title on Monday when they face West Ham. Antonio Conte’s men have a 52% chance of beating The Hammers at the London Stadium, with a 27% chance of a draw.

While the numbers aren’t as strongly in Chelsea’s favour as they could be, The Blues’ history of 23 wins in 41 games against their London rivals should reassure Chelsea fans that their team will retain their 10-point lead at the top of the league.

Second-placed Tottenham are also expected to retain their position, with a 78% chance of a victory against Everton at White Hart Lane. Manchester City will remain in third place, with an 80% chance of beating Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Further down the table, Microsoft’s search engine expects Stoke, Southampton, Leicester and Swansea all to emerge victorious from their matches, while the bottom four – Middlesborough, Crystal Palace, Hull and Sunderland – will remain unchanged.

Beyond match result predictions, Bing’s stats also show that Claudio Ranieri has overtaken Antonio Conte as the most-searched for manager – an unsurprising development, given Ranieri’s recent dismissal from Leicester.

Wayne Rooney remains the most-searched player, thanks to transfer rumours.

Bing created its predictions using a complex algorithm that analyses player performance.
