You can now pre-order a limited edition Xbox One X with a special engraving
A limited edition of the Xbox One X, the most powerful console ever made, is now available to pre-order in the UK.
The device, which offers 40% more power than any other console, with better graphics and sound, can now be pre-ordered online by gaming fans across the world.
The Xbox One X Project Scorpio Edition has the words “Project Scorpio” printed on the console and the wireless controller, features a custom colour and comes with a vertical stand.
Starting at £449, the console will be released on November 7.
The Xbox One X’s six-teraflop engine and built-in supersampling gives gamers better textures, smoother framerates and faster load times, even on a 1080p TV. Players can record game clips in 4K at 60 frames per second and capture 4K screenshots.
During Gamescom, Europe’s biggest videogames event, Microsoft also revealed that more than 100 new and existing Xbox One titles will be enhanced for the Xbox One X. These include Halo 5, NBA 2K18, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, ReCore: Definitive Edition, FIFA 18, Star Wars Battlefront II and Below.
As well as the new console, a limited edition Xbox One S Minecraft bundle will also be released later this year.
The one-terabyte (TB) console includes a custom designed grass block console, a wireless controller featuring a Creeper design, Minecraft system sounds, a vertical stand and a transparent underside with Redstone circuit accents. The bundle also includes a full game download of Minecraft plus the Redstone Pack – a collection of unique skin packs.
The bundle is now available for pre-order at the Microsoft Store, priced from £349.99, and will be released on October 3.
The green Minecraft Creeper wireless controller is also available to buy separately, along with one featuring a pink pig design. They can be bought from September 21, priced at £64.99.
An Xbox One S Shadow of War bundle will be released in October. It comes with an Xbox One S and a 500GB or 1TB hard drive, a copy of Middle-Earth: Shadow of War, an Xbox wireless controller, a one-month Xbox Game Pass subscription and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial. The 1TB version is available to pre-order now for £299.99, with the 500GB version available at a later date.
Finally, gamers are now able to customise their experiences on Xbox One and Windows 10 PC. The changes, part of an update that’s initially available to Xbox Insiders, will apply to Home, Guide and Community from today, with Avatars, Game Hubs, Profiles and more coming later this year.
Adding games or friends to your homepage, so you can find them quickly, is as easy as selecting one, pressing the Menu button on your controller and choosing “Add to Home”. This creates a block of content that can be moved up or down, or removed altogether, should your interests or habits change. These blocks will evolve over time based on the things you like to do. For example, adding a game to your Home screen may pull in an Activity Feed post from the developer, show when your friends are playing that game online, suggest your next Achievement and provide a quick shortcut to the Game Hub for that title.
It’s now even easier to switch between apps or get back to your homescreen using the left thumbstick, d-pad or bumpers on your controller; while the community section has a new Activity Feed layout, showing more content at-a-glance.
Windows 10 PCs will also receive updates to the Game bar and Gaming settings menu.
