Chelsea to tighten hold on Premier League, Bing predicts
Chelsea will extend their lead at the top of the Premier League when they beat Leicester City this weekend, Bing has predicted.
Antonio Conte’s men have a 41% chance of beating last season’s champions, which will push the club up to a total of 52 points, widening the gap between the Blues and second-placed Liverpool.
The Reds face a scrappy 50th Premier League meeting against former titans Manchester United – a match in which Microsoft’s search engine rates a draw at 43%, and a win for Liverpool at 31%.
Tottenham, who are snapping at Liverpool’s heels with 42 points, are expected to slice straight through West Brom’s defence. A comfortable win is rated at 86% – an unsurprising prediction, given that Mauricio Pochettino’s men are unbeaten at White Hart Lane this season.
With Manchester City heavily favoured against Everton at Goodison Park (76% chance of a win, 12% for a draw), the top four will remain unchanged, if Bing’s predictions prove accurate.
Arsenal fans will be pleased to hear that the Gunners have a 62% chance of beating Swansea. A win for the visiting North London team will place them one point behind fourth-placed Man City, further cementing the club’s reputation for top-four finishes, no matter what the odds are.
Positions in the whole table, in fact, will remain unchanged, bar Crystal Palace and Sunderland, who will swap, Bing believes.
Palace, currently in 17th place, are expected to draw against West Ham, while Sunderland are expected to overcome Stoke City, with 58% for a win, and 23% for a draw, putting them one point above Palace’s expected 17 points.
Bing has created its predictions thanks to a complex algorithm, which looks at player performance.
