Chelsea victory against United this weekend will be a welcome boost for City, Bing predicts

Chelsea have a 46% chance of beating Manchester United this weekend, according to Bing’s predictions.

If the Blues do indeed walk away from Stamford Bridge with a victory or a draw (a 36% chance), that will leave United trailing rivals Manchester City, who have been given a 50% chance of beating Arsenal. If both results come to fruition, City’s lead at the top of the Premier League will increase to eight points.

United, however, look set to remain in second place. While Spurs’ predicted win against bottom-placed Palace will see them match United’s 23 points, the North London club is unlikely to make up the seven-goal difference required to edge ahead of José Mourinho’s team.

The top six slots remain static, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool set to stay in fourth, fifth and sixth place, respectively, despite the Reds’ expected triumph over West Ham at the London Stadium.

Bing predicts that numerous teams will fall further own the table this weekend. Burnley, Watford, Southampton, Leicester, Brighton, Huddersfield, West Brom and West Ham all look set to drop at least one position after their respective matches. Everton, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace will remain in the relegation zone.

Bing creates its predictions using a complex algorithm that analyses player performance.
