Forza Horizon 4 gameplay: the map, the missions and more
The Microsoft UK News Centre got its hands on Forza Horizon 4 ahead of the game’s release next month.
We played the first hour of the latest title in the open-world car racing franchise, which is set in the UK and features changing seasons and more than 450 vehicles from history and the present day.
To succeed in the game, players will have to adapt their driving style to cope with on and off-road races during spring, summer, autumn and winter.
“This is a homecoming for Forza Horizon,” said Ralph Fulton, Creative Director at Forza Horizon 4’s creator, Playground Games. “It started in Britain in our office in Leamington Spa around nine or 10 years ago and has gone from strength to strength. We’ve been all over the world and visited some exotic places but I couldn’t be more thrilled to set the game in Britain. I feel proud of how our country shows up in the game.”
The Microsoft UK News Centre immersed itself in the Forza Horizon 4 map – from Edinburgh to a quarry in Wales – taking in a world that whizzes by at 60 frames per second in 4K.
The official Forza Horizon 4 demo is out now, ahead of the game’s release in store, online and on Game Pass on October 2. Those who own the Ultimate Edition can start playing on September 28.
