Manchester City to kick off new Premier League season with a win against Arsenal, Bing predicts

Manchester City will begin the defence of their Premier League title by beating Arsenal this weekend, Bing has predicted.

Microsoft’s search engine expects Pep Guardiola’s men to take all three points at the Emirates on Sunday in their first match of the new season, following their victory over Chelsea in the Community Shield last weekend.

Man City won the Premier League title in May by picking up the most points, scoring the most goals and winning the most games in the history of the top-flight.

Despite last season’s record-breaking performance Guardiola, manager of the Sky Blues, told Sky Sports that his side can improve.

“Of course we can improve. If I felt we could not improve the team I would call my chairman and say: ‘I leave’. But still, we believe we can do better and dominate more. Will it happen? I don’t know but we believe we can do it,” he said.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their past five Premier League meetings with Arsenal (won three and drawn two) and have lost only two of the past 12 (won five and drawn five).

Sunday’s result will mean that Arsenal boss Unai Emery will lose his first competitive game in charge of The Gunners, after replacing Arsene Wenger earlier this summer. Arsenal finished last season in sixth.

Elsewhere, Bing expects Manchester United to kick off the new Premier League season on Friday evening by beating Leicester.

Manager Jose Mourinho is unbeaten in nine opening weekend matches (won eight and drawn one). His average of 2.78 points per fixture and win percentage of 88.89% are the best of all the managers to take charge of at least five opening-day fixtures.

The Red Devils will be hoping that new signing Fred can help them improve on a second-place finish last season.

Liverpool have spent big over the summer in a bid to improve on their fourth-place finish last time around. The Reds have brought in Fabinho for £44 million, Naby Keita for £48 million, Xherdan Shaqiri for £13 million and goalkeeper Alisson Becker for £67 million.

Bing predicts that the Reds will beat West Ham on Sunday. Liverpool have won each of their past three Premier League matches against West Ham, scoring four goals in each of those victories.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will take all three points at Huddersfield, Brighton will beat Watford, Premier League newcomers Cardiff will sweep aside Bournemouth, Crystal Palace will beat Fulham and Everton will overcome Wolves.

Bing creates its predictions using a complex algorithm that analyses player performance.
