Manchester City will miss another chance to win Premier League, Bing predicts

Manchester City will miss another chance to clinch the Premier League title this weekend, Bing has predicted.

The Sky Blues, who could have been crowned champions last week but lost to rivals Manchester United, will draw against Tottenham on Saturday to keep the race open for at least another round of matches.

Microsoft’s search engine believes there is a 39% chance of a draw at Wembley, with Pep Guardiola’s men given a 35% chance of victory. It means that Man City could win the title next week when they play Swansea at home.

Spurs have lost only one of their past five Premier League meetings with Manchester City, and are currently unbeaten in their past 14 top-flight matches (won 11, drawn three) – their joint-best run in the competition.

Even if Man City do win, Manchester United will spoil the party by beating West Brom on Sunday, Bing has stated. Jose Mourinho’s men have an 89% chance of securing a sixth consecutive Premier League victory, something they last achieved in January 2017.

The result will leave Man City top of the league on 85 points and Man Utd in second with 74 points with five games remaining.

West Brom will remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League following their defeat at Old Trafford. Other results this weekend mean that the Baggies will be 12 points from safety with four games remaining.

West Ham will continue their climb away from the relegation zone by beating Stoke. The Hammers have a 41% chance of victory at the London Stadium, in a result that will heap more pressure on 19th-placed Stoke.

Southampton, who currently occupy the final relegation place, will slump to defeat at home to Chelsea on Saturday afternoon, Bing has predicted. The Blues have a 46% chance of winning, with the Saints handed just a 15% chance. Chelsea have won their past four Premier League matches against Southampton.

Crystal Palace and Huddersfield, who are 17th and 16th respectively, are expected to win their games to increase the pressure on the teams in the bottom three.

Palace have a 42% chance of beating Brighton at home, while Huddersfield have a 48% chance of overcoming Watford. That will see them both leapfrog Swansea, who will only manage a draw against Everton (59% chance).

Elsewhere, Burnley will beat Leicester (58% chance), Liverpool will sweep aside Bournemouth (89% chance) and Arsenal will take all three points at Newcastle (43% chance).
