Manchester United to retain top spot this weekend despite Paul Pogba injury, Bing predicts
Manchester United will remain at the top of the Premier League table this weekend despite one of their key players being injured, Bing has predicted.
Facing Everton at Old Trafford, Microsoft’s search engine has given the Red Devils a comfortable 89% chance of a victory, even with midfielder Paul Pogba sidelined as a result of an injury he picked up against Basel on Tuesday night.
Rivals Manchester City won’t be giving Mourinho’s men any room to relax, however, with an expected comfortable win away at Watford on Friday.
Elsewhere, London rivals Chelsea and Arsenal will be clashing at the Emirates. The Blues have won their past five home Premier League matches against the Gunners, and Bing estimated that they’ll have an 89% chance of walking away with another victory, solidifying their third place position.
The expected loss for Arsenal, however, will see Arsène Wenger’s squad drop from to 12th place, putting a coveted top-four spot even further out of reach.
Tottenham, who despite not having the best start to the season gave a strong display in their 3-0 victory over Everton last weekend, are expected to jump up to fourth place after a predicted victory against Swansea on Saturday.
Likely to join Tottenham on 10 points are Liverpool and West Brom, who are both expected to win their games against Burnley and West Ham, respectively.
Stoke, Brighton, Swansea and Everton are likely to drop points and positions in the table, while the three teams in the relegation zone – West Ham, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace – are expected to stay put.
Bing creates its predictions using a complex algorithm that analyses player performance.
