Manchester United will beat Liverpool in the Premier League this weekend, Bing predicts

Manchester United will strengthen their hold on second place in the Premier League this weekend by beating rivals Liverpool, Bing has predicted.

Microsoft‘s search engine gives Jose Mourinho’s men a 55% chance of victory at Old Trafford on Saturday, with the visitors handed just a 14% chance.

Both sides are in good form heading into the crucial match, with wins in their past two games. However, Man Utd have won 27 of the 51 matches the pair have played, with Liverpool winning just 13. They last met in October at Anfield, where they drew 0-0, while Man Utd were the last team to take all three points in this fixture following a 1-0 win in January 2016.

The win will give the Red Devils 65 points, four clear of Tottenham, who will replace Liverpool in third by beating Bournemouth. Spurs, who have won four of the five meetings between the teams, have a 75% chance of victory on Sunday.

Harry Kane, joint top scorer in the league with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, will be hoping to add to his 24-goal haul against a Bournemouth team that has been handed only a 6% chance of taking all three points at the Vitality Stadium.

Manchester City will sweep aside Stoke on Monday night, and will need just three more wins to clinch the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola’s men have a 67% chance of winning at the Bet365 Stadium, giving them 81 points with eight games remaining.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte recently told the BBC that he believes Man City can become the first team to reach 100 points in a single Premier League season.

“They have the possibility [of reaching 100 points] because they’re showing to be the best in the league,” he said. “If they continue with this fire, with this hunger, for sure they can achieve this result. It won’t be easy.”

City’s win over Stoke will maintain the 16-point lead they have over Man Utd, and keep The Potters in the relegation zone.

West Brom and Crystal Palace will remain with Stoke in the bottom three after their defeats against Leicester and Chelsea respectively.

Chelsea are expected to remain in fourth, the final Champions League spot, with Bing giving the London club an 89% chance of taking all three points at Stamford Bridge.

Leicester will continue their turnaround under Claude Puel, who took over in October, with bing handing the team a 75% chance of victory at The Hawthorns on Saturday. West Brom, who have a 6% chance of winning, will remain rooted to the bottom of the league with 20 points.

West Brom’s hopes of survival will be dealt a further blow as Bing expects Southampton and Newcastle, who occupy the final two safe spots in the league, to draw. This will move Southampton two points clear of Crystal Palace and Stoke, and nine points clear of West Brom.

In the weekend’s other games, Arsenal will put a stop to their recent run of poor form by beating Watford at The Emirates. The Gunners have a 58% chance of victory. Bing expects Huddersfield to beat Swansea, Everton will overcome Brighton, and Burnley will take all three points against West Ham.

Bing creates its predictions using a complex algorithm that analyses player performance.
