Microsoft appoints Alan Lewis to lead Public Sector in the UK

Alan Lewis will join the Microsoft UK Leadership team as the new General Manager of Public Sector. He will succeed Chris Perkins, who has successfully led the Public Sector business for the past five years, and who will transition to a new role leading Microsoft UK’s Enterprise Commercial business.

Alan Lewis joins from PA Consulting, where he has worked for the past 16 years. He leads their global defence and security business and brings a depth of Public Sector experience. Prior to PA Consulting, Alan worked at Nestlé in a variety of leadership roles.

Clare Barclay, Chief Executive Officer, Microsoft UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Alan to the Microsoft UK leadership team. From the emergency services to government, Microsoft is committed to helping the UK public sector embrace digital transformation while navigating the ongoing demands created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Alan will play a critical role in driving success with our customers and partners in this sector.”

“I’m passionate about Microsoft’s role in the future prosperity of the UK and ambitious about what we can achieve to address the biggest challenges for government, said Lewis. “These range from how we change the relationship with citizens, data literacy in the provision and accessibility of services, and the part the UK plays on the world stage to tackle global issues such as sustainability, economics and security. I am excited about the opportunities this role at Microsoft will bring.”
